Students Absent: Matthew Trenchard, Lewis Williams and a portion of the Year 13 food technology students

Welcome to Term 1 2017's 'People of the Term' project, which recognizes senior division's leading students who are challenging the disinterested teenage stereotype by succeeding at each of their passions while giving back to their school and Canterbury community. In this issue we discover a heroic school lifeguard, a group of charitable chefs, an aspiring rugby player, two unique musicians, a competitive cyclist and the main leaders of Burnside High School such as the head prefects, sports and academic leaders and student representative. We fully understand that there may be some admirable students and achievements that we have neglected to feature in this issue due to lack of information, but they will be heavily covered in the next issue.
